Obesity

Several studies find that obesity and related diseases increase both the level and growth of U.S. health care spending—but there is disagreement over how much. Nonetheless, obesity impacts health care spending  in the U.S., and is certainly a health problem that is not going away. Many researchers speculate that obesity rates will continue to climb, worsening our fiscal strains in the future.
